Procurement of Trucks, IFB No. ICB /ESTDP/G-1/2010

1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in Development Business issued on May 4, 2010

2. The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received credit from the International Development Association toward the cost of Ethiopian Sustainable Tourism Development Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the Contract for the Procurement of 2 Waste Disposal Trucks for Lalibela (1 Vacuum Truck and 1 Solid/Dry Waste Disposal Truck)

3. The Ethiopian Sustainable Tourism Development Project now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for the supply of the following trucks

1.One Vacuum truck

2. One Solid/Dry waste disposal truck

4. Bidding will be conducted through the Internatioanl Competitive bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.

5 Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from Ethiopian Sustainable Development Project (ESTDP), Birhanu Degu, e-mailbirhanudegu@yahoo.com, Procurement Specialistand inspect the Bidding Documents at the address given below from Monday to Friday during office hours: 8:30 am - 5:30 pm

6. Qualifications requirements include: The bidder shall have an average annual turnover of at least five times of the bid price within the last three years, prior satisfactory completion of at least two contracts of similar nature and size within the last 2 years.A margin of preference for eligible national contractors shall not be applied. Additional details are provided in the Bidding Documents.

7. A complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written Application to the address below and upon payment of a non refundable fee

Birr 300 (Three hundred Birr). The method of payment will be in cash, CPO, or certified cheque.

8. Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before April 6, 2012 at 3:00 PM local time. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected.

9. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders' representatives who choose to attend at the address below on April 6,2012 at 3:30 PM local time.All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of minimum ETB 200,000.00 or equivalent in any easily convertible currency in the form of CPO, Bank Guaranty.
