Invitation for Bids: Understanding the Target Market for FarmerChat in Ethiopia by Mapping Intrahousehold and Group Phone Sharing/Access
Digital Green Foundation invites qualified consulting firms and research organizations to submit technical and financial proposals for conducting a study on understanding the target market for FarmerChat in Ethiopia by mapping intra-household and group phone sharing/access.
Scope of work
The selected consulting firm will be responsible for designing and implementing a mixed-methods study to understand the target market for FarmerChat, covering phone ownership, intra-household and group phone sharing, and access to digital agricultural advisory. The study will be conducted in 6 selected woredas across Oromia, Central Ethiopia, South Ethiopia, and Sidama regions.
Eligibility Requirements:
§ Multidisciplinary team with expertise in agricultural extension, gender studies, statistics, agricultural economics, and related fields for smallholder farming and rural development.
§ Strong understanding of digital agricultural advisory services, including mobile-based tools and their integration into extension systems.
§ Proven expertise in gender analysis, intra-household decision-making, women's empowerment, and social inclusion, including phone ownership, access, and sharing patterns among women and marginalized groups.
§ Extensive experience in designing and conducting quantitative household surveys, intra-household interviews, and FGDs with a strong gender lens.
§ Demonstrated capacity to analyze quantitative and qualitative data through a gender perspective and produce high-quality, gender-responsive reports.
Submission Requirements:
Interested applicants should submit:
1. Technical proposal (maximum 5 pages) detailing the tasks, methodology, and timeline.
2. Financial proposal with a detailed budget.
3. Work plan indicating the timeline of activities.
4. One-page profile of the consultant with relevant qualifications.
5. Statement of capability and previous engagements (2-3 pages).
Submission Deadline:
All proposals must be submitted in a sealed envelope no later than March 19, 2026, 2:00pm (8:00 local time) to the Digital Green office located at 22, Haile Geberesillassie Street, Waryt building, 6th floor, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Evaluation Criteria:
§ Technical proposal =50%
§ Demonstrated qualification and experience = 20%
§ Financial proposal = 30%
