The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia/Ministry of Mines has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Japanese Social Development Fund Grant to Improve the Economic, Social and Environmental Sustainability of Artisan Miners and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services.

 

The consulting services ("the Services") include Training of Trainers (TOT) with improved tools for efficient, safe and eco-friendly mining technique and basic geological assessment.

 

The Ministry of Mines now invites eligible consulting firms ("Consultants") to indicate their interest in providing the Services. InterestedConsultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services.

The short listing criteria are: Core business & years of experience in the business, Qualifications in the field of the assignment, Technical and managerial organization of the firm, General qualification and number of key staff in the firm. Consultants should give information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, descriptions of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.).

 

 

The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to paragraph 1.9 of the World Bank's Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants [under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants] by World Bank Borrowers  January 2011. ("Consultant Guidelines"), setting forth the World Bank's policy on conflict of interest.

 

Consultants may associate with other firms in the form of a joint venture or a sub consultancy to enhance their qualifications.

 

A Consultant will be selected in accordance with the QCBS method set out in the Consultant Guidelines.
